How to Enable Whatsapp Voice Call Feature Officially in Android By Techgleam.com

After buying WhatsApp, Mark Zuckerburg is trying to make it better in every possible way. Recently they had launched their web version of Whatsapp by which you can use WhatsApp in PC. Now they have started to roll out one of the best and most expected feature that is WhatsApp Voice Calling Feature.

WhatsApp voice calling feature is rolling out from past two weeks and so many people are able to get this feature.

Lets see how to activate it.

Steps to Enable WhatsApp calling Feature in your Android.

Note: iOS and Windows phones are not supported as of now.

Well there are three ways to activate the call feature in WhatsApp. Firstly if you get any call who already have calling feature enabled in WhatsApp and the second step is using Terminal Emulator. And Third step is by adding some codes inside the WhatsApp App.

To activate by getting a call follow the steps.

Step 1: WhatsApp calling feature is being activated from v2.11.561 this version. So you must install atleast v2.11.561 or higher version. Updating from Google Play will not help. You have to download from their Official Website.

Step 2: Now after downloading it install it in your mobile and overwrite the existing. If you are getting problem when installing be sure to turn on the “Unknown Source” in Android Settings.

Step 3: Now inform any of your friend to give a call in your mobile who already have WhatsApp calling feature enabled.

Step 4: Now you are done. You will now see “Calls” option in your Whatsapp. 

Now lets see how second method works.

This method is little bit tricky and for techie guys mostly. But I will elaborate the whole matter simply so that non-techie guys can also do this.

To implement this your phone must be rooted. Know how to Root your Android Phone easily.

Step 1: Now if you are ready with Rooted Android Phone then download the latest version of WhatsApp from WhatsApp official website like previous.

Step 2: Now Download, Install and Open Terminal Emulator for Android.

Now Write this code and Run

su -c am start -n com.whatsapp/com.whatsapp.HomeActivity

Step 3: Open WhatsApp and now you will be able to see the Call Feature has been added in your WhatsApp. 

Here we come with the third step and this is also a tricky part like previous and for Rooted users only.

Step 1: When you are ready with your Rooted Android Phone Download and Install the latest version of WhatsApp as I told in previous steps.

Step 2: Download any Root Explorer and then move to sdcard/data/data/com.whatsapp/shared_prefs/com.whatsapp_preferences.xml

Step 3: Now open “com.whatsapp_preferences.xml” using the text editor and then 2 lines of code anywhere in the file between the “<map></map>”.

Step 4: Now Save the file and Exit the Root Explorer.

Step 5: Go to go to Settings>Apps>WhatsApp and Force Stop it.

Step 6: Now open WhatsApp and you will be able to see the Calls tab in your WhatsApp.
